Netanyahu’s address at the UN General Assembly

If you have not heard Prime Minister Netanyahu’s address to the United Nations General Assembly I would urge you if possible to set aside 30 minutes before Yom Kippur and listen to it. Some newspapers have totally distorted what he said. Few gave credit to an outstanding articulation of the case for Israel which should be widely disseminated. It is not a public relations exercise. It simply skillfully tells the truth. If we had more of this we would at least be able to expose as charlatans those who continue their hateful efforts to demonize and delegitimize us.

If after listening to Netanyahu’s address you want to see an example of the distortion employed by anti-Israel extremists frustrated with the diplomatic success and consensual support in Israel that Netanyahu has achieved, turn to today’s revolting coverage and distortion of the speech, written by Gideon Levy on the front page of the Haaretz newspaper.

  1. bibi stating that on the UN podium - the UN which was created, among other reasons, because of the holocaust - that on this day, the president of iran was allowed to deny the holocaust and was applauded by some and good on those who walked out: good move.

challanging the denial of the holocaust by amadogofjihad and “proving” its varacity with documents and arguments thus entering into a debate about its reality was a big mistake. There is never a justification to debate the issue. like debating the argument that the earth is flat. it is giving credence to the claim of the denial.

    bad move.

It was a fab speach, telling it like it is except for that one thing.

the UN is totally discreditted by allowing the kind of vile by amadogofjihad without sanctions and “prooving” the varacity of the holocaust falls right into the denier’s game. bad move.

  2. As I, and millions of other Jews and friends of Israel around the world watched Prime Minister’s Netanyahu speech at the United Nations with pride and joy, some self hating Jews joined with burning anti-semites in he hatred of the Jewish nation. These people felt small and useless same as they did when Jews were defensless and were being slaughtered en masse. I am sure that Gideon Levy and Haaretz and their ilk liked the speeches of Kaddafi and Ahmadinejad better than the speech by Mr. Netanyahu. It seems to me that we will have always had characters like this in our midst. How else would we be able to differentiate good from evil…I and millions of others are proud to say that whatever these twisted minds think, whatever they say, things have changed. They do no longer get away with impunity, they cannot step on the Jewish people, they cannot bow and grovell to “superior” races and feel empowered by their cowardice . Capos existed under the Nazis, and I guess Capos still roam around here and there today. Anyone who cannot swell with pride of what the Jewish people and Israel have achieved in only 60 years of it’s rebirth in the land of our ancestors, our land, the Jewish land, will end up in the heap of history, forgotten and irrelevant as have innumerable others who tried to destroy the people of Israel over the centuries. Mr. Netanyahu is the right man for these difficult times. Another miracle in our favor.

I suggest we insure that our children and their children understand what it means to have Israel back as our nation, what it means to be proud of our ancestral home returning to life in the 20th Century and how we are the only Nation on earth who have survived all odds and are still on G-d’s earth. Only parents can imbue this in our children. Do not count on anyone else to teach them what it means to be Jewish and to honor Israel o matter where we live. Remember what happened in th the 1940 without Israel.

Mr Leibler, I thank you for bringing this to our attention.
